Johnny Kriek
Veterinary Surgeon
BVSc (Pret), CertSAS, GPCertSAP, MRCVS
Johnny grew up in sunny South Africa, and was fascinated by animals from a very young age. Determined to become a veterinarian, he felt extremely privileged to qualify from The University of Pretoria, Faculty of Veterinary Science in 1996. After practicing in South Africa for a couple of years he set off on world travels, and eventually adopted England as his second home. His never ending quest for knowledge and fascination with veterinary science has led him to pursue further qualifications in small animal surgery and small animal practice. Johnny enjoys all aspects of small animal practice treating a vast array of species, and he has extensive experience in performing more complicated surgical procedures.
Gillian Gibson
Veterinary Surgeon
VMD, DipACVIM, MRCVS
Gillian has lived either side of a rather large pond (the Atlantic Ocean) at different times in her life, always accompanied by animals. Her university years were spent in Philadelphia, PA where she completed both her Bachelors degree and Veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania. After working in general small animal practice for a few years, she undertook 3 years of advance post-graduate clinical training and completed the certification process to achieve the status of a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DipACVIM) in 2002. She has worked in first opinion practices as well as private referral and university hospitals in the USA and UK. Over the past 10 years she has also worked as an internal medicine consultant for veterinary clinical pathology laboratories (national and international). Gillian’s main areas of interest are haematology (blood and coagulation), oncology, endocrinology and infectious disease. When not working, studying, or taking care of their own pets, Gillian and Johnny are kept busy and entertained by their 3 children.

Katie Clarke
RVN
Katie has worked both in private and charity animal hospitals, and she completed her nursing qualification in 2008. She enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with the job, and being kept on her toes as no two work days are the same. As a self-confessed crazy cat lady, Katie is ideally suited to being one of our feline patient advocates. Katie is a firm believer that success is a journey, not a destination, and her positive attitude is a great source of strength and support for the whole team. Although her passion for pink, chocolate and ridiculously high heels is not reflected in her role as a nurse, we have been noticing pink accessories appearing in the practice.
Jo Hart
RVN
Jo qualified in 2008, and enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing. Her special interests include senior pet health care and in-patient care. She has completed a Pet Health Counsellor course and is available for consults to help our patients maintain a healthy weight. When she is not at work she enjoys travelling, and spending time with her family and her silver tabby cat, Rupert.

Maria has always been surrounded by pets and animals. She has worked as a veterinary animal care assistant for over 30 years, and have experienced all the highs and lows of pet ownership. She will always offer a helping hand or a patient ear to pet owners and clients.

Lucinda joined KGVS in October 2019 as a trainee veterinary nurse. She grew up around animals, and currently shares her home with three cats, two dogs, a rabbit and a guinea pig. She enjoys spending time with her animals, watching David Attenborough and reading.
Alison Rickard
Receptionist
Alison joined KGVS in January 2019, already having eight years experience as a veterinary receptionist.
Her yellow Labrador "Harlee" came from Labrador Retriever Rescue, in fact her two previous Labradors also came from LRRSE, so she can be considered a "failed fosterer".
Spare time is filled walking dogs and looking after horses - having a share of "Ace" and helping with "Taggart" and "Bilbo".
